The variation is that each thread is double.

Bring the needle up at A, go down at B, and come up at C.

Insert the needle at D, come up at E. Continue for the desired number of stitches.

Insert the needle at F, come up at E, repeat (making two stitches at FE).

Insert the needle at D, come up at C, and repeat (making two stitches at DC). For the last stitch go down at B, come up at A, and go down at B.
