This stitch is worked on a folded edge.

Come up in the fold at A. Enter the fold at B and bring the needle out at C on the face, directly below B. |
Hold the thread vertically and without going through the fabric slide the needle under AB from back to front. |

Bring the needle down on the reverse of the fabric and come out on the face at D to the right of C. Keep the needle to the left of and over the vertical thread. |
Hold the thread vertically and without going though the fabric slide it behind the crossed threads from back to front. |

Bring the needle down on the reverse of the fabric and out at E to the right of D and left and over the vertical thread. |
Repeat Steps 4 and 5 to the end of the row. |
