On the first side to be joined, come out at A in the fold of the hem. Insert the needle at B. Come up at C not through the fabric but behind the fold. Keep the working thread under the needle. |
Go in at B. Up at D behind the fold. Keep the working thread under the needle. |

Pass the needle behind AB and left of C. Keep the working thread under the needle. Tighten the knot. |
