In this method of couching the the couching thread is embedded between the ply of the couched thread. When the couching is done with a fine matching thread the couching thread becomes almost invisible.

Diagrams 

Lay the thread or threads to be couched (base thread) on the surface of the fabric in the desired pattern. Bring the couching thread up between the ply of the base thread at A. With a small stitch insert the needle at B between the same ply.

Working from right to left continue this method to attach the base thread or threads in the desired pattern.
