First join the two edges with the Cretan Join stitch. The interlacing is done into the join and does not go into the fabric.

Bring a new thread out at A in the fold of the hem. Pass the needle under the first Cretan stitch on the opposite edge. Pull through.

Pass the needle under the same Cretan stitch again. Pull through.

Pass the needle under the first Cretan stitch on the opposite edge. Pull through.

Pass the needle under the Cretan stitch again.

Pull through.
