Lay a foundation of four Straight stitches forming a diamond. Come up at A, go down at B, and come up at C. Continue clockwise. GH must pass under AB. |
Use a second thread to do the interlacing. Come up at I, which is under GH. Go under AB near B. |

Interlace the corner by weaving over and under as the threads present themselves. |
Continue to interlace the corners, moving around the diamond clockwise. |
