This Hemstitch variation is stitched from the reverse. The face looks like a Back stitch. The knot appears at left on the Reverse sample.

Come up at A in the hem.

Take a straight stitch from B to C.

Slide the needle under stitch AB close to the fold.

Slide the needle under the fold of the hem and come out at D directly below C.

Take a Straight stitch from C to E.

To continue, substitute E for C and repeat Steps 3 to 5.
