Work away from yourself. This stitch looks like a Chain stitch.

Bring the needle up at A. Go in at B, above and one thread to the right of A. Come out at C, above and one thread to the left of A. |
Go in at A and come up at D, directly above A and slightly below CB. |

Go in at E, above and one thread to the right of D. Come out at F, above and one thread to the left of D. Repeat Steps 2 and 3 to form a line that looks like a Chain stitch. |
